The six skate parks – Armatage, Bottineau, Brackett, Creekview, Elliot and Morris –are getting rave reviews from skateboarders. The parks are geographically distributed throughout Minneapolis with one in each commissioner district.

The skate parks have structures such as ramps and rails made of high-grade weather resistant materials that sit on a bituminous or concrete surface of approximately 6,000 sq. ft.

They have been designed as Tier 1 facilities, which refer to a classification devised by the League of Minnesota Cities to address skate park liability. Tier 1 skate parks have equipment 48 inches or less in height, require no locked fence or supervision, and require no additional insurance premium. They appeal to a wide range of age groups and offer challenges for a wide range of skill levels
